Without putting too finer point on it, November 2016 we were gliding along like every other family, and then ' BANG' , just like that Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 3, aggressive Breast Cancer. Well thanks to the staggering support of family, friends and colleagues and Lisa's incredible strength she's through the other side. The truly FANTASTIC care, support and service given by the Rose Clinic, at Blackpool Victoria made me realise without them so many people would be on thier own through during the terrible journey.
Kilimanjaro has been on my personal bucket list since I was about 20 years of age. In May 2019 I will be 50 years old so I suppose it's a now or never moment. In case you don't know here are just a few facts :
1. It's the highest free standing mountain in the world, 5895metres, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa.
2. We'll be trekking through 5 distinct climatic zones during the journey. I'm told it's like travelling from the Equator to Antarctica in a few days. First day temperature will be about 25C /78F, to then when we're at the Summit will be approx -15C !
Please support us , but above give to this Charity.
