Annabelle's Challenge is raising awareness of Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vascular EDS) to the general public and medical profession to help aid an early diagnosis and prevent misdiagnosis of vascular EDS and to support patients who are affected by the condition.

Story

We are trekking the length of Offa’s Dyke from Chepstow in the south to Prestatyn in the north, a length of 177 miles traversing the English-Welsh border.  We will be carrying everything we need for the journey on our backs.....and that’s a lot of wine!!  We’re hoping to complete this over two weeks, walking 10 - 19 miles per day.  We are covering all costs ourselves (travel, hotels, equipment etc) so every penny you donate will go straight to where it is needed.

The inspiration behind our challenge is 6-year old Hugo, our amazing nephew who was diagnosed with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (VEDS) at the young age of 2.  VEDS is a life-threatening connective tissue disorder that affects all tissues, arteries and internal organs making them extremely fragile and at risk of sudden rupture.  No one knows what is around the corner for people affected by this syndrome.

Annabelle's Challenge is the leading charity for vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in the UK.  Its main aim is to raise much needed money to campaign for awareness, research and support for patients and families affected by VEDS.

You can also donate via text if this is easier for you.  Text OFFA90 £10 (or whatever amount) to 70070.

Thank you for all your support and donations!  Please continue helping to raise awareness by reading about the symptoms, taking note and talking about this with your family, friends and colleagues.  We need to get more clinicians recognising the signs and symptoms for early diagnosis.
