Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am doing a 200 mile cycle ride from Doncaster to Wolverhampton and back a few days later, to raise money for The Salvation Army in memory of Danielle Kenehan; on the 4th of August which would have been her 30th birthday.

The Salvation Army, specifically the centres on St Margaret's Ave and Leeds road in Bradford did so much to support Danielle and I in our times of need. They provided food, advice, time and effort when at times it seemed like there was no one else. I went through a period of being homeless, and got to know a few of their homeless workers who walked the streets looking for people in need to try and better their situation.  They don't judge, they don't force their religious values down your throat in exchange for help. Put simply I wouldn't be alive if this charity didn't exist. And Danielle's life would have been cut a lot shorter than it was.

Workers  at the centre closest to where we had lived had  become personally invested in mine and Dani's story. After she passed, they worked with my family to make sure I didn't go the same way. I had no income. So all the workers that knew her took me to and supported me throughout her funeral.

I can't think of a more deserving charity to fund raise for or a better way to commemorate Dani's birthday.
