Story
Hi. I’m Jasper and I’m 9 years old.
On Sunday 3rd May I’m going to cycle 100km on my turbo trainer. I was originally supposed to be taking part in the Isle of Wight Randonee (a cycle event around the Isle of Wight) but because it is cancelled I decided I could do it inside instead!
I can’t wait to do the event and it will be a great achievement for me. I have never cycled anywhere near this distance before! I also hope this will inspire people to push themselves to the limit. I am doing it for fun and not racing so I think it will take me several hours.
I have chosen Ronald McDonald House Charity because I had a big heart operation when I was 4 weeks old and the hospital I had to go to was 70 miles away from home. My mum and dad stayed in the Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey Hospital so they could be really near me. My mum and dad said “While Jasper was in intensive care and high dependency we were given a place to stay with direct links to the hospital. A difficult time was made so much easier and we will be forever grateful. Thankfully his surgery was a great success and it’s amazing to see how much he now loves training for, and taking part in, triathlons”.
