Story
This year, I'm braving it and going big by trekking the West Highland Way (96 miles) by foot, over the course of 6 days starting on 25th August. This will be a solo mission, involving wild camping which is new to me. And will closely be followed by, my friend Pooja Kumari and myself climbing Ben Nevis on Day 7.
As part of preparation, Pooja and I will be trekking Snowdon (14th July), and Scafell Pike (27th July), and I will be taking on a series of long distance walks varying in length between 14 miles to 26 miles).
We are raising money for Khalsa Aid who are an international non-profit aid and relief organisation founded on the Sikh principles of selfless service and universal love, but their aid is not just limited to Sikh community, it is worldwide. I have been following the work of this incredible charity for the past few years, especially the Langar Aid project set up in the UK which provides food and support to people without a home. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the volunteers who continuously put the need of others before them and come together as a community (regardless of race, religion, sexuality, gender & age) to serve the world as one.
This charity has inspired us in many ways and we know we can do a lot more to better serve the world we live in; no matter how big or small the act of kindness may be.
All we can hope to ask for is your support in donating to make a big
difference in someone else’s life. Thank you.
