CLAPA is a support organisation for all those affected by cleft lip and/or palate. One in 700 children are born with this condition. We provide information, advice, and support through our online events led by staff members and volunteers. Facebook groups, and peer and parent support services.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page set up for the voluntary charity organisation CLAPA (Cleft Lip And Palate Association)

My son Jaxon was born with a Bilateral cleft lip and palate, since his birth we have recieved amazing help and support from the CLAPA team and nurses throughout the process of his operations and his continual development. The help and support the team give parents and families is under appreciated and the least I can do in return is help raise awareness and funds to help other families.

On Monday August 5, myself and 4 friends will be driving all the way to Madrid and back on behalf of charity to raise money and awareness for CLAPA. We are using a vehicle that costs less than £500 to add to the challenge. No homely luxuries, no overnight hotel stops, no sat nav/GPS on phones meaning the use of old school maps the whole way only!

We aim to make it there and back in 5 days covering over 3000 miles and returning on Friday the 9. We will be videoing the journey and taking pictures along the way as well as undergoing certain tasks we have set to add to the fun and help attention to spread the awareness. Each donation of £10.00 or more will receive a copy of the DVD sent out to them.

Each major city and town we pass through along the way we will be stopping and spreading awareness on Cleft Lips and Pallets, handing out packs, leaflets etc.
