Vitality London 10,000 2022 · 2 May 2022 ·

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

At the end of 2021 I suffered an unexpected, traumatic event that caused me significant psychological distress, leading to the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Thanks to my family, friends, colleagues and the generous support of the Foresters Friendly Society, I have been given access to specialist therapeutic treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Repair (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help treat the PTSD and OCD.

However, there are many people not as fortunate as me who aren't able to access this form of treatment because it's either too expensive or not widely known about. That's why I'm taking part in Vitality London 10,000 2022 - so I can raise funds and awareness of the various treatments available for therapy, and help to normalise the conversation around mental health.

I'd absolutely love to raise £2,000 for Mind, the mental health charity aimed at ensuring that no one has to face a mental health problem alone. That's £200 for every kilometre :)
