London Landmarks for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
In April 2025, I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity that is very personal to me and my family. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs and digestive system, leading to severe respiratory issues and difficulty in absorbing nutrients. My family has been affected by this condition for generations. Both my grandparents carried the CF gene and had three children, Mary-Jane who had CF, Helen and Jenny who both carry the CF gene. As a result, my family must have testing for CF before having children. At only 16 years old, Mary-Jane passed away from this condition which is why I am passionate about raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust to support research into this condition.
There are currently around 11,000 people in the UK living with CF and thanks to dedicated research and medical advancements, individuals with CF are living longer, healthier lives. New treatments are continually being developed, and this money raised will help to fund further research into the causes of and new treatments for CF, ensuring that everyone has access to lifesaving medicines and high-quality clinical care. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to support in making a difference to the lives of those affected by CF 🫶🏼
