The AVOCADO Foundation exists to tackle poverty and inequality, by empowering people with financial education and entrepreneurial skills as well as equipping organisations with the tools for funding sustainability. Our work prioritises young people and disadvantaged communities.

Story

Hey everyone! I'm fundraising for Money4YOU this year--they're creating financial literacy resources for young people from marginalised communities in London. You may have seen the report that the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities published today (31 March); the ONS's own statistics show an ethnicity pay gap in London of 23.8%. The work that Money4YOU is doing gives people the tools to make smart financial decisions for themselves.

So, on Friday 16 April at 6pm--one week after my birthday--I'll be dancing my heart out to some Afrobeats! I have a lot of learning to do between now and then. I hope you'll join me both in having fun and in supporting the cause.
