My name is Jay, and I’m addicted to my phone.📱 I live in Social Media, I play music, read email, talk to friends, watch videos, pay for things, travel and everything else imaginable through my little handheld device. It’s a obsessive habit that controls my life and guess what... for 125 hours I’m giving it up. 😵
Not only that (because I refuse to do things alone) my fellow chums at The Sonic Show are also giving up their worst habits. Potty mouthed Nicole is going swear-free and Scourge is giving up cigarettes!!! 🤐🚬
These may seem like crazy things to do when they are your biggest vices but it is nothing compared to what many women out on the streets have given up just get through another day. By sponsoring myself and my crew we aim to raise money for One25’s “Give It Up” event. One25 is a Bristol-based charity, specialising in enabling women to break free from street sex-work, addiction and other life-controlling issues and build new, independent lives.
“We provide night outreach (5 sessions weekly), drop-in centre and casework, giving person-centred support and advocacy to around 240 women each year. Our service users are women over 18 years old who are trapped in, vulnerable to, or building new lives away from street sex-work. We meet their complex, intertwined needs including: addiction, homelessness, life skills and employment, poverty, violence, ill-health, offending and bad or broken relationships.
We are the only organisation in Bristol and the surrounding counties specifically for women in street sex-work.”
