Story
Our Managing Director, Ashley Buckland, has come up with a way to keep up team morale (from a social distance), stay fit & healthy and raise money for charity.
We have been set the task of seeing how many collective kilometres we can run, walk and cycle over the next four weeks. 🏃 🚴
After a few (slightly optimistic) calculations, we have agreed on a target of 1000k in May. #JBA1000kInMay
Whether it's our Financial Director cycling 10K a week 🚴 or our Junior Surveyors running 5K every other day 🎽 - we believe we can collectively reach 1000 kilometres and hopefully raise some money while we do it! #RunForHeroes
All proceeds will go to local charity, Southampton NHS Heroes, to thank them for the incredible job they've been doing over this difficult time.
Please do not hesitate to donate & support us in our #JBA1000KinMay...
ABOUT THE CHARITY:
Your generous gift wont be used to pay for equipment and services the government has committed to funding.Instead well use it to:Boost staff morale.Support their mental health and well-being.
Your money has enabled us to fund wellness packages with hand creams, food supplies and mental health support information.
We've also ordered coffee machines to be distributed across the hospital sites and are in the process of securing milk, refreshments and paper deliveries which is especially important now that many of the shops and restaurants have closed on site.
But there is so much more that is needed like:
iPads for our Occupational Health colleagues enabling them to do interactive sessions with staff whilst remaining off site.
Tablets for our staff so that they can connect safely with their loved ones at home whilst working long shifts or isolating themselves.
We have also identified a safe space for staff, but the room needs remodeling in order to support their needs.
