In 2024-25 our members will be raising funds for Walking With The Wounded. We also support footwear education and industry, and a number of charitable organisations including the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and the Royal Free Hospital.

Story

As a keen cyclist  I was absolutely  delighted when I was offered a place by FarmAfrica in the Ride London event on 29 July. It’s a closed road, 100-mile event, starting at the London Stadium and ending in the Mall. For any cyclist a closed road event is an absolute joy and are very rare in the UK, so naturally I jumped at the chance.

When it came time (i.e. now!) to seek charitable contributions I thought  that  there could be no better way than to kick-start the Master’s chosen charity  for his year, the Alzheimer’s Society www.alzheimers.org.uk and also seek to raise money for FarmAfrica www.farmafrica.org. It costs £7 to  provide a goat and they are wonderful animals, especially valuable in Africa. Let’s buy as many goats as we can !

The Cordwainers Minge's Gift fund will divide the donations equally  between the Alzheimer’s Society and FarmAfrica. (Please specify if you would prefer to support just one of these charities.)

I do  hope that you will give your wholehearted support to both the Alzheimer’s Society and FarmAfrica and that we can meet (and hopefully exceed) our target.

If you are out and about on Sunday, look out for the Green Machine!
