Where there's a Will there's a way- Longest Steepest Highest Quadrathlon
Campaign by Muscular Dystrophy UK (RCN 205395 (England and Wales) - SC039445 (Scotland))
On 30th and 31st August 2019 a team will swim, kayak, ride, and run through the Lake District to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK

Story

At the end of August, our colleague Sam, and a team of amazing friends will take  part in the 'Where there's a Will  there's a way - Longest, Steepest, Highest Quadrathlon' over 2 days to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK.

In June 2014, Sam's son, Will Taylor was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe muscle wasting condition for which there is no treatment or cure. Will is now 9 years old, and the condition is impacting on his mobility and his life. In a bid to help in finding an effective treatment for Will, his Mum and Dad, Sue and Sam, have set up this unique Challenge - the Longest Steepest Highest Quadrathlon.

The challenge itself:

We will all Swim 1 mile and then Kayak 12 miles in Windermere; the
longest Lake in England. Immediately afterwards we will cycle from Waterhead to Wasdale Head, riding over Wrynose Pass and then Hardnott Pass; the Steepest Road in England with a gradient up to 33%.

After an overnight stay, we then finish by running 13 miles over Scafell Pike; the Highest Mountain in England at 978 metres.
