DSP Project Harar Travel across Britain · 12 August 2020 ·

Project Harar provides access to treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration services in Ethiopia for children and young people with clefts and more complex facial disfigurements. We do this because these children and young people are at risk of stunting, malnutrition, and social exclusion.

Story

Note: Before creating the Just Giving Page and tracking via Strava, I've already cycled 164km / 300km.

Every year, a group of medical volunteers fly out to Ethiopia to provide life-changing surgery for 50 children. The surgical mission begins with two weeks of pre-surgery assessments, two weeks of surgery and up to two months of recovery.

Our Challenge:

Our first team challenge will be a Team Trial: Travel Across Britain, in which the DSP team will cycle, run, or walk the combined distance from Land's End to John O'Groats over the month of August - that's 1,557km (980 miles) to travel over 31 days! You can show your support by sharing, liking, and of course donating either on the individual page of one of our volunteers or on the DSP team page. You can even keep track of how far we've cycled, ran or walked through the Strava link on the JustGiving page.
