Children's Air Ambulance is holding a Channel Swim Relay event between the 4th and 8th of September covering 22 miles between Dover and Calais, with 4 teams of six, swimmers will take it in turn to swim the channel in rotation.

Story

I’ve dusted off the old speedos (I can just about squeeze into them after my lockdown diet!) and I’m ready to dive back into the Channel.

This time I’m not alone - I have joined a wonderful team of swimmers to swim from England to France in aid of the Children's Air Ambulance.

We will be completing the 22.5-mile stretch as a relay in an effort to raise vital funds for the national lifesaving charity who transport critically ill children in rural areas of the UK. The Air Ambulance receives no government or lottery funding and rely solely on donations in order operate and continue to save lives.

Less than a  month of training is not ideal but I like a challenge and it's for a great cause.

Any donation amount will be  greatly appreciated!

About the charity

The Children’s Air Ambulance is an inter-hospital transfer service flying critically ill babies and children from one hospital to another for specialist care. With our ability to fly approximately four times faster than a land ambulance, we can minimise travel times and the risk for patients.
