This September (14th and 15th), I will be doing the 3 Peaks Challenge with colleagues, as part of Team Investec (a.k.a "The Mountain Zebras"). The UK 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the UK (Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, Snowdon in Wales) in under 24 hours. The UK 3 Peaks Challenge is arguably a little easier than its equivalents in Tibet (which no one ever completed) or France, but it's still a demanding hike, with circa 3,000m cumulative climb and, inevitably, little time for rest between the peaks.  

I have chosen to raise money for Starfish, an international development charity, aiming to bring life, hope and opportunity to children in Southern Africa who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. It is making a significant impact through community based projects, providing services such as home visits, counselling, social grants, and access to education.A lot more information on the projects they're currently developing is available on their website (www.starfishcharity.org).

I believe that the children Starfish is helping deserve to have a chance at a better life, and I am convinced that the education Starfish gives them access to is the best possible way to give them this chance.

My fundraising target is £500, as part of an overall Team Investec target of £20,000 across its 40 "Mountain Zebras". It is an ambitious target, but with your help I'm confident it's one that we can reach ! And given the urgency of the situation of these children, being ambitious is the only option, really.
