I'm taking part in the Moonlit Walk 2013 in order to raise money for the Heart of Kent Hospice.

My lovely daughter, Emily, died last year just three months short of her 36th birthday.  The Heart of Kent Hospice made all the difference to us.  They made the whole family feel like it was a home from home at a time when it was the hardest for us. We felt so fortunate that we could be close to Emily at the end of her life, and that she was so well cared for.

For those who cannot be cured, the hospice can and does give a place where the family can have a quiet time, and sometimes some fun (we'll never forget the sliding sheets and the hairdye, when Emily wanted to look her best, even while she felt so ill).

We are walking together this year, Emily's dad Alan, her sister, Becky and me. I hope that together we can raise loads of money for this brilliant cause that helps families when they need it the most.
