Story

“Erm Jeavan, why are you putting yourself through this?”

The first time I ran The Birmingham Half Marathon over a decade ago that was my time, and I’ve never been able to beat it since. “I ran a half marathon in under two hours” has got a nice ring to it it. So this is the year I’m going to do it! I mean my training back then was basically two/three runs a week and bag of chips before cross country training with my school team, so how hard can it be now?

But it’s just not about beating my personal best, I want to raise some money for three amazing charities; Cancer Research UK, Mind and The MS Trust. All doing amazing work to help the lives of others so I would absolutely love it if you could donate whatever you can to support these causes. Believe it or not, there is no online giving page where you can split donations equally between charities hence this page is set up like how it is. The other option is having a “personal fundraiser” page and then I equally split the donations. However the charities will get less as 9% is used as processing fee, (yikes) and there is no Gift Aid option either so that’s an extra 25% on top of your donation the charity can get if you are a UK Taxpayer. So I would love it if you could split your donation equally between them, would be greatly appreciated!

Finally I need a “no skip” playlist, so if you could drop some tunes in the comments that would be “a bit of fun” (he says nervously). You all know what music I like (Bowie, The Beatles, Costello, Collins, Genesis, The Police, Dylan, Ferry, Prince, Queen etc.) so this is your chance to be nice or give me an impromptu lesson on modern music!

Thank you so much again! Jeavan
