When the Ukrainian national football team were knocked out of the World Cup qualification playoffs on the 5th June 2022, I was filled with a huge sense of pride for humanity. These young men were so incredibly brave, and their tears on the pitch heavily impacted me. Those unbelievably courageous individuals have inspired the watching world whilst their people back home continue to try and overcome the atrocities that have befallen them.

I instantly wanted to help in any way that I could. I will be running 14km on the 25th of June to try and raise some much-needed funds for an incredibly important cause. I have chosen 14km as not only will it be 4km further than I have ever ran in one attempt, but it honours the 14 goals scored by the Ukrainian national team on their journey to the playoff final. The journey that inspired so many people to keep on fighting.
