Running to End Homelessness

Grandma's Marathon · 18 June 2022
Please help me raise money for the residents of Stepping Stone. I am running this event to bring awareness to the issue of homelessness and the impacts of mental health struggles on the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
The cost to shelter a resident for one night is $45, so by raising $9,000 dollars, together, we will provide for 200 nights of shelter to help our neighbors become stably housed.
My story with Stepping Stone began as a volunteer in the kitchen, helping to serve and prepare meals. From there, I helped with the Jobs Club and mentoring of residents. At that time, I was a business owner and business coach. When our youngest son, Waylon, died by suicide in 2019, my priorities shifted and I made the decision to help the residents of Stepping Stone in a more direct way, so I joined the team to help build support for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
I ran my first marathon in 2011, just after I turned 40. I dreamed of completing a marathon each decade to welcome in the next chapter of my life. I'm a year late because of, you know, COVID, but here I go to celebrate my 51st birthday!
Please join me in changing lives by contributing to this fundraising event!
