So here's my challenge, I'm going to run around the Isle of Whight Coastal path, all 106k of it,  all in one day, or even less if I can manage it

So here is my plan:

My challenge starts in the north at West Cowes, home of British sailing.

West Cowes 0 km – The Needles 30 km

Setting out from the historic Northwood House in West Cowes, I will head out through the estate grounds westwards onto the coastal path and continue anticlockwise around the island over the cliff tops.

A brief stop at the 1st mid point stop at 14 km to fuel up with energy snacks and drinks, before setting off past Yarmouth Castle and out to the western most point of the island, and the iconic and famous white cliffs of the Needles, and here will have my first  1st major rest stop.

The Needles 30 km - Chale 56 km

The next section will be dominated by spectacular coastlines, dramatic cliffs and chalk downs before reaching my 2nd mid point stop at 45 km. Then it's out to tackle the so called 'Back of the Wight'.

My 2nd major rest stop rest stop at 56 km and will be located in the village of Chale in the south.

Chale 56 km - Bembridge 79 km

After a little rest and recuperation, I will then set out towards the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor at 66 km, and the next mid point stop for supplies.

Next up will be Bembridge at 79 km and my final major rest stop marking the eastern most point of the Island.

Bembridge 79 km - West Cowes 106 km.

Then on to Ryde, where I will pass the impressive half mile long pier and the last mid point stop at 91km before the push to the finish line.

Finally the route heads to East Cowes, where I will  pass the home of Queen Victoria’s summer residence, Osbourne House, followed by a quick river crossing on the floating bridge before the final short stretch to the finish line and return to  Base Camp - what an achievement!
