Story
Hi all,
I'm running my first half marathon at the Hackney Half on Sunday 26th September, to raise money for London-based homeless charity, Single Homeless Project (SHP).
SHP believes that everyone should have a place to call home and the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life. Supporting more than 10,000 lives across all 32 London boroughs annually, the charity works hard to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness including poor mental health and alcohol dependency. It focuses on helping single Londoners – whether to prevent their eviction or help them off the street; to get them into drug or alcohol treatment or support them with their mental health; or to help them find a job and a flat so that they can go on to build independent lives.
I appreciate that we all have had a challenging year and that we're not completely out of the woods yet, but if you have any capacity, please make a donation to support the fantastic work that SHP does. With homelessness at its highest level for a decade and cuts to public services affecting the most vulnerable, not to mention the impact of the pandemic, the charity needs our support more than ever.
Thank you and wish me luck!
Jeffrey
