Story
Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read our story......
We are Jemima and Annabelle, Dream Beams youngest fundraising ambassadors and we are the first to take on a challenge under the officially registered Dream Beams charity banner. We are undertaking this challenge to support two charities, Hand on Heart and the East Cheshire Hospice.
We are ready to take on double mountain adventures. Firstly Annabelle (11years old) will the ascend of the south face of Snowdon by the south ridge to the summit of Snowdon, this is the most beautiful way up Snowdon. Jemima (13 years old) will then ascend of Dinas y Gromlech rock face on the north side of Llanberis Pass via the route called “Flying Buttress”. First climbed by J M Edwards in 1931. A steep and classic route with a remarkable degree of exposure and graded “very difficult”.
During the summer holidays and September we will train hard in preparation, then we’ll climb on the weekend of 21st September 2019. Monies raised from donations will be given to the East Cheshire Hospice, where ‘people go to live.’ We are inspired to give to this amazing local charity by the hard work both our mother Katie Jordan is putting into the Dream Beams Ball for the Hospice's Childhood Bereavement Service and the work our school, the King’s School in Macclesfield, is putting into fund raising for the East Cheshire Hospice itself, which is the school’s chosen charity to support this year.
Our mission.....and goal...
After Jemima’s knife edge ridge climb last year and working hard on undertaking and coordinating many stalls at school this past year she felt energised and inspired to undertake her next big challenge. In February this year Annabelle undertook a successful valentines bake and games stall spanning over two days for the Hand on Heart Charity where she and her lovely friends raised £600. Annabelle's now following in Jemima's footsteps with her climbing challenge and she’s both excited and hopeful to raise the final £400 to add to her £600 already raised. Annabelle is determined to make her total raised up to £1000 to enable her to give a primary school in the Greater Manchester area their own defibrillator and monies raised over and above the £400 will go towards the East Cheshire Hospice.
Any donation small or large would truly mean the world to us as we take on our first sister challenge!!! Thank you in advance to everyone.
