Story
Hello!
I am honoured to be running two marathons (woo) - Bath Two Tunnels and Brighton - in support of The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) and the fantastic work they do providing women across the UK with reproductive support and advice.
BPAS sees around 100,000 women per year for reproductive healthcare services including pregnancy counselling, abortion care, miscarriage management and contraception, at clinics across the UK. It supports and advocates for reproductive choice. 1/4 women experience a miscarriage.
50 years ago the Abortion Act 1967 was passed giving British women access to safe legal abortion, however, shockingly women today STILL face persistent attempts to chip away at their reproductive rights, attempts to limit their options and their choices. It’s appalling. BPAS fight every day to provide women with safe, accessible abortion services and healthcare; campaigning to ensure women can make their OWN decisions about their OWN pregnancies. Which sounds about right, right?
BPAS advocate for a future where every woman can exercise reproductive autonomy and is empowered to make her own decisions founded on whatever-the-hell-reasons she likes!
I’d like to add that they've been a firm friend to women across Ireland, especially during the many years of governmental prevention from accessing safe, legal medical treatment during pregnancies.
Anything you can give will be immensely appreciated!
Your money will be supporting campaign work and helping women access the care they greatly need.
