Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Keynsham Mencap is a charity that provides social and leisure opportunities to children and adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Mencap has a central role in creating friendships, trust, love and fun. As some would say, the purpose of life is to help others.

I have chosen this charity because I am part of the Keynsham Mencap community and I volunteer for them every week. I have helped out on many day trips and holidays which have all been amazing experiences for myself and the members. I first joined Mencap to gain some experience for my university course and didn't really know what to expect. Now ,I couldn't imagine my life without everyone I have met. The joy it brings to myself, the members and all the other volunteers is unexplainable.

I have chosen to do another skydive as it is going to be another challenge for myself as well as a thrill! And the inflatable 5km will be a fun and exciting new challenge, I'm sure I'll be very amusing to watch!

Keynsham Mencap is a self-funding charity. They do not receive any regular funding from National Mencap nor the local authorities that they operate in. Therefor the charity raises all the money themselves to enable the society to run as it is;  therefore we need to find over £100,000 per year.  Here you can find more information- https://www.keynshammencap.org.uk/

Thank you all so much for your donations. Each penny enhances a persons life, whether that being small or big.
