Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know last year on 24/11/19 in the early hours of the morning our little boy was taken to Liverpool women's neonatal unit fearing that he may not make it and if he did he would need surgery to treat a condition call nec. This was caused by an ecoli infection he had contracted. Whilst we were there they told us he had confirmed bacterial menigitis and sepsis. The next week was a bit of a blur but we were then informed that the menigitis had travelled to his brain and had caused 2 abscesses. We felt like time stood still. Thankfully with a lot of love and support and lots of medical intervention from the whole neonatal team we got to bring our little boy home on January 23rd 2020, without the need for surgery. Since then we have been holding our breath to see if he would meet milestones and we're happy to report that he is. In fact he's doing so well we describe him as if you didn't know you wouldn't know. Whilst we were at Liverpool women's hospital accomodation was a big problem for us and we spent some nights at the hospital and some in a hotel. Liverpool women's has highlighted that the parent accomodation needs to be improved so now the new neonatal unit is complete this is where they are focusing their attentions. So starting on the 8th of November 2020 for 10 days, Albie will be walking a lap of our cul de sac to raise money for his favourite hospital which helped him be the boy he is today and to try and help other parents have the best accomodation that they can when their little one is getting the best care they can. No amount is too small it will all help support this amazing hospital.
