Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

Gavin, my husband, is diabetic and quite frankly the disease scares the hell out of me. A good friend's husband died of diabetes complications and I know that it will get Gavin at some point and that upsets me a great deal.

So, I am doing my tiny bit to help them to continue researching into ways of stopping this or finding drugs that don't have such horrible side effects. They also provide newly diagnosed people with support and I know that this helped Gavin a great deal when he was first told.

This is the first time I have raced over 10K and I am looking forward to the challenge and finding time to train slowly and gently, so that I don't injure myself. You can follow my progress on www.actionjen.wordpress.com  As a result of my injury prone-ness I am starting the training from June and will be building up the mileage gradually. I would like to point out that it is not just that I am a clumsy cow, but there is a medical reason too!!

Please sponsor me to keep me motivated and to help raise money for Diabetes UK.
