Turning 50 is one of the more daunting birthdays in life! But when I roll the clock back just over two years ago and remember the feeling of uncertainty that I faced whilst going through 3 months of blood cancer testing followed by successful treatment, I feel completely blessed to be celebrating this milestone big birthday!
So we’re keeping the celebrations low key but I would be so incredibly grateful for any of my family and friends to celebrate with me by supporting this charity and the important work that they do with a small donation.
Lymphoma is the fifth most common cancer in the UK and the most common type of blood cancer.
It is also one of the most common cancers in 13-24-year-olds, so it is important to educate your kids & teens in checking for swellings and lumps in the neck, armpits and groin area which are warning signs that should never be ignored.
Based at the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology at Queens University Belfast, Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI funds laboratory research, clinical support and education. It is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to fighting these diseases and all funds raised remain here to support local projects.
