Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you probably know, a wonderful friend of mine called Alex Hubbard sadly and unexpectedly passed away just before Christmas 2014 from a previously unknown heart defect. Alex was the most kind hearted, cheerful person someone could ever hope to meet. Everyone who knew him will agree he was an amazing person who always lived life to the full and never failed to put a smile on your face. Even in early morning lectures (when attended) he would be laughing and chatting away to everyone - even when everybody else hated the thought of being out of bed!!
He is the reason I am running the Hackney half marathon on May 10th for a wonderful charity called CRY (cardiac risk in the young.) CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by young sudden cardiac death. They also promote and develop heart screening programmes and raise awareness of the possibility of cardiac conditions amongst the younger community.
I am challenging myself to complete the run in less than 2 hours and would really appreciate your help in raising money for this amazing charity (even if it’s not very much every little helps)! Please help me raise awareness of the work this charity does – in both prevention - if just one family does not have to bear such a loss in the future that would be fantastic – and not forgetting the help and support they given to the many families that are affected by this each week.
Thank you so much for your support!
