Our Blue Light 2019
Campaign by Our Blue Light (RCN 1178735)
Our Blue Light raising awareness of Mental Health amongst our Emergency and Essential Services.

Story

Our Blue Light Charity was formed in April 2018 to support colleagues and their families across the emergency services. This includes Police, Fire, Ambulance, NHS, Probation, Prisons, Coastguard & Mountain Rescue. Jen and Zara want to raise funds to support the campaign to raise awareness of mental health in these crucial front line services. These are employees of essential services who are presented with very difficult and highly pressured situations but who may need support themselves in view of their experiences. Our Blue Light enables a culture where colleagues feel comfortable talking about their mental health both at home and in the workplace. The charity strives to raise awareness through a variety of different campaigns, training, workshops and providing support.

The charity have also agreed to support us in raising money for Papyrus, a charity supporting young people at risk of suicide and their families. We have chosen this particular charity in memory of our late colleague Rebecca Parle who sadly passed away in 2017 aged only 27.

Both Zara and Jen have been training for the 3 Peaks, yet are still novice hikers. We have all the kit and are ready for the challenge of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on 11th May and then (assuming we survive that!) the National 3 Peaks on 6th July. Please wish us luck, send us positive words of encouragement and we'd love it it you would donate to these charities close to our hearts.

Thank you so much!
