We are trying to do our bit, in the best way we know how, to support the  fantastic staff  in the Critical Care Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital, which as many of you know is just a short walk away from Elystan Street.  And we need your help. 

As a leading NHS Hospital, The Royal Marsden is on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic and Phil, the team and I want to do what we can to support this amazing hospital through this difficult time.  

 The hospital food is only available at certain times and often the doctors and nurses in the Critical Care Unit miss the chance of getting anything to eat during their 12 hour shifts. So we are providing individually portioned meals for all of the CCU to grab when ever they get a break.  We started on 4th May and the feedback we got was incredible, it seemed to provide a real moment of delight and excitement in an otherwise gruelling day.  We feel honoured to be able help and we are committed to giving them nutritious, delicious,  Elystan Street quality food.  Its absolutely what they deserve and the least we can do.

For £6000 we can buy all the ingredients we need to feed the CCU staff for at least 2 months.  Elystan Street will cover all production costs, and our suppliers are generously donating what they can, which is fantastic, but it is a tough time for them too.  

The work of the hospital is supported by The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, who have launched a "Fighting Fund", an emergency fundraising appeal to support staff and patients.  Thus far it has supported purchasing of essential equipment as well as being used in research projects for cancer and Covid-19.  It is also being used to fund psychological support for the mental wellbeing of the staff.
