Story

I am very proud to be running the Royal Parks half marathon on Sunday 10th October for Action Postpartum Psychosis and supporting our friends Nicola and James. They have overcome Postpartum Psychosis with the support of this amazing charity. The work that APP completes is vital in supporting and raising awareness of the condition, please donate to help support the APP and help me through the last few weeks of training! Thank you!

Here is a little bit about APP and the Postpartum psychosis.....

Postpartum psychosis affects thousands of women in the UK each year. It is a severe episode of mental illness which begins suddenly in the days or weeks after having a baby. Symptoms vary and can change rapidly. They can include high mood (mania), depression, confusion, hallucinations and delusions. Postpartum psychosis is a psychiatric emergency. You should seek help as quickly as possible.

It is much less common than Baby Blues or Postnatal Depression. It occurs in about 1 in every 1000 women (0.1%) who have a baby.
