Story
So those of you who know me know that 11 years ago I had breast cancer, but, for me the most difficult time came 3 years later, when I suffered awful depression & anxiety. The type where you struggle to get out of bed & function. It was only with the support of my incredible sister & a couple of really close friends, plus the most extraordinary GP who got me counselling really quickly, that I made it through the other side.
It took a long time. Some days are still a little more challenging than others, but with the help of counselling, using CBT, I have tools which help me.
This is a challenge for me. 100 miles in 31 days means I have to run a parkrun a day. Made more challenging by the fact I work away quite a lot & will need to get my big girl pants on to run in unfamiliar places! I've never run this far in one month before.
This January, the RED community will be challenging themselves to get active every day. Whether running, swimming, cycling or choosing a favourite fitness activity, REDers will be going the extra mile to support themselves and others. Their fitness and fundraising efforts combined with your generosity will help continue Mind BLMK's life-changing work, ensuring no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
