Older people living in residential care homes can often feel lonely and isolated because they are no longer connected with the things and community around them. We at Friends & Neighbours (FaNs) run initiatives to alleviate this, including the Wishing Washing Line where community volunteers make the residents wishes come true, ColchesterUp where nursery & primary schools connect for inter-generational learning, FaNimals bringing joy to those who once had pets but are no long able to live with them.
