Brighton Marathon Weekend 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·

The AT Society is a small, national charity that supports children, young adults and their families whose lives have been shattered by a diagnosis of ataxia telangiectasia (AT), a rare, degenerative, life-limiting condition for which there is no cure. We fund vital research and essential support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In April 2018 our daughter Rose was diagnosed with a rare degenerative neurological condition called Ataxia Telangiectasia. It was a very difficult time with lots of questions and unknowns as it such a rare condition. We were visited by Anne & Kay from the AT Society and their knowledge, compassion and honesty helped us prepare for what may come.

The condition affects her balance and immune system and has thrown up many challenges in life including having to make the decision to move house to give her easier access. At all the hurdles we have come across the AT Society have been on hand to help with things from making visits to school, with occupational therapists to arranging hotel accommodation for hospital and clinic visits. At every difficult step they help make the way a little easier.

This is why we are running the 2020 Brighton Marathon to raise funds to aid the wonderful work that the AT Society do and the support that they provide to families all across the country.
