Running for Prevent Breast Cancer is my way of saying a huge ‘Thankyou.’

Prevent Breast Cancer is an amazing charity focussed on the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. 1 in 9 women and 1 in 1000 men in the UK will develop the disease in their lifetime. That means that every year, in the UK, 55,000 individuals are diagnosed, 150 people a day. Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer.

I have experienced their fantastic help first hand. They helped me look at my family history of breast cancer, understand my physical consistency and the high potential future risk for myself. 

I was beautifully supported through the process ultimately leading me to decide on having a mastectomy 5 years ago. This gave me back peace of mind not just to myself, but for my husband and my three young boys. 

Prevent Breast Cancer gave me choice and power with such a super level of empathy. 

It is a great charity and one that I am so grateful for. I am so appreciative of  anyone’s contribution, big or small to help this charity continue in the quest of preventing this illness, reducing its impact on individuals and their families.
