Story
I'm knitting every day in March for the one million people that are living with dementia in the UK today. Want to join me in supporting a good cause? Every penny you donate goes towards driving forward the search for a cure. The first treatments that can slow Alzheimer's disease are now on the horizon. We are at a tipping point in dementia research. Whether you donate £5 or £50, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support 🧡
My gran had Dementia for the last few years of her life before she passed away on December 18th 2015 aged 87. We had a closer relationship.
After re-starting on how to learn Crochet in October 2025 after trying the previous October and not getting very far with it, I have finally learned how to crochet. Now that I have the basic skills in how to crochet, I want to put what I have learned into practice to raise money for people with Dementia so that we can get a better understanding of it and make life with it a little easier.
My other gran was able to crochet but was unable to show me how to do it as she passed away when I was 2 years old. Now that I am able to do it, I want to put my skills into use. A skill that one gran had and that I now have and want to raise some money for what the other gran suffered from later in life.
