Bath Half Marathon 2011 · 6 March 2011 ·

A Christian organisation helping street children in South Africa to access basic education so that they can help themselves in life.

Story

We're braving the cold to train for the Bath Half Marathon in March to raise funds for Amasango!  This is a very special place in South Africa, that provides the only opportunity for free education for street children in Grahamstown.

Normally the kids get two meals a day at school because there isn't any food at home.  The SA government doesn't pay for school meals so these are funded through a charity here in the UK that raises funds to feed and cloth the kids so they're able to stay in school.

The global recession has meant that funds have decreased and in recent weeks the school has only been able to provide the kids with dry bread for lunch.  Surely we can do better than that!

Please support us as we hit the road to raise funds for Amasango to help ensure these kids get a decent meal at school!

Any donation you make will make a real difference to the Amasango kids! Don't forget to tick "yes" for giftaid if you're a UK tax payer!
