Story
Did you know that around 1 in 9 people aged 65 and over will be diagnosed with Alzheimer's?
Alzheimer's currently has no cure and the work carried out by Alzheimer's Society is critical to help fund essential research towards finding a cure. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Specifically for my sisters and I, we are running this for our Grandma
who has dementia.
If you had to describe a Grandma you would describe our Grandma. She gives the best hugs, couldn’t be any more interested in what you’re doing, was the best baker in the world and is entirely devoted to her family. We now get to share her with our 6 nieces and nephews as she has become a Great Grandma over the last 6 years. She is bright, funny and sparkly but Alzheimer’s is taking her away from us and it’s heartbreaking. Our hope is that more grandmas get to spend longer enjoying quality time with their families.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of our story, and for donating to help fight this cruel and devastating disease.
