From 8pm on the 12th March to 8pm on the 14th March 2010 I will be fasting. No food shall pass my lips for those 48 hours.

This is all in aid of the Small Steps Nursery, a charity which works with young Ugandan children with learning difficulties or developmental delay, providing specialist support to them and their families.

The charity has been set up by a friend and is run entirely by volunteers, which means any donations will go directly to supporting the children.

I am hoping to get 50 people to sponsor me £5 which will help me get to my target of £250. It may not sound a lot however this will have an enormous impact.
The £250 will either:

• Pay for 250 nutritious meals for the children
• Pay for 10 weeks rent of the facilities
• Employ local staff for 5 months

Its not just your money I am after: I am looking for donations of:

• New and used educational toys and books
• School supplies such as pencils, crayons, notebooks
• Equipment including potties, baby baths, feeding cups and children’s clothes
• Sanitary and first aid equipment

I will then get these shipped directly to the Nursery.

 
So I am asking you to please help with whatever you can.
