Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

For our joint new years resolution this year, we will be taking on various different challenges, fundraising events and helping to raise awareness of Psoriasis.  Joe is looking at doing various cycling events with the aim of completing a total of 2020km in various sportives throughout the year and I may even join him on a couple.  I will be doing something every month. Sometimes it will be a simply donation but as the year progresses I will planning challenges, fundraising events etc.  All funds raised will be donated to The Psoriasis Association.

Our daughter Georgia developed severe Psoriasis back in November 2018. The past 18 months have been a challenge for all of us trying to find a treatment that works for her.  Covering 90% of her body during a bad flare up it can be extremely distressing and uncomfortable for her.  As parents seeing your child in any pain / discomfort can be hard.  She has dealt with it with such bravery and strength - she has simply amazed us with her resilience.  With confidence she will tell someone that it's Psoriasis, not make up or sunburn which have been some of the comments made directly to her or us.  She is a normal 5 year old with a skin condition - beautiful no matter what, inside and out.

Currently there is no cure only ointments / tablets and alternative treatments to help control it.  Psoriasis affects 2-3% of the UK population and comes in different forms which all range from mild to severe.  By raising funds and awareness we are doing our bit to help work towards a cure in the future.

Psoriasis doesn't define a person - its just a part of who they are.
