Story
Last year I was fortunate to be able to begin a fellowship with The Red Thread Partnership, a unique 'not-for-profit' community initiative bringing together leaders of local businesses and the charities that deliver services and work in their community. My chosen charity was the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) who I have been working with since the end of last year.
SIA are a user led charity with a mission to ensure that everyone affected by spinal cord injury can live a fulfilled life. With over 12,000 members, SIA is run by, with and for the spinal cord injury community. Through a programme of information, advocacy and peer-led support, SIA helps spinal cord injured people rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
It's been a tough 6 months for a lot of us, an even tougher time for charities who continue to provide support to those that need it during the pandemic. Every penny counts for them at the moment, to get an idea of the support your donation could offer;
£25 could cover the cost of an SCI Nurse Specialist telephone
consultation. Just one 30-minute conversation could save a life.
£50 could enable a response through the Advice Line, a vital source of
information, guidance and signposting to others who can help.
£75 could fund crucial advocacy work, ensuring that SCI people remain
a priority in settings where beds and ventilators are in high demand.
£100 could enable us to work with a volunteer for a year. Many of SIA’s
volunteers (which includes the majority of the Board of Trustees, and our Support Network Volunteers) are spinal cord injured.
£150 could enable us to provide a Support Network session for an SCI person or their family member or carer.
£300 could fund training for a health or care professional through our Academy and SCI Specialist Nursing programme.
£500 could enable us to provide Support Network provision to an SCI person or their family member or carer for an entire year.
I understand that perhaps current circumstances may mean that you are not able to donate much but even a small amount could make a difference to somebody's life. Please help me support this fabulous charity, we just never know when we might need their support in return.
If you are not able to support with a financial donation, I would be grateful if you could share my story with your network instead
Thank you so much for visiting my page.
