Story

15th May 2010

Today I completed my 10 mile walk at Scone Palace, started at 12.35pm with 300 other 10 milers and crossed the finish line at 4.10pm so 3.5 hours but take off the 35minutes in pit stops and I achieved the 10 miles in 3 hours :D

Derek & Ella came along to give their support and after walking with me to the first pit stop where he was going to go and explore Scone, Derek decided he was ok carrying Ella & her changing back (probably 13kg in total) and decided to continue the walk with me!

Ella was the star attraction of all the marshalls & other walkers as she was the youngest ever walker lol & straight after crossing the line I was asked if I could be contacted by the magazine who sponsor the walk as they do feature stories of people who do them & I suspect that after she heard Derek & Ella did it with me without being registered that I'm highly likely to get a phone call next week!

So we're all terribly exhausted but I'm glad I did the walk in less than 4 hours, I def wouldnt have been able to do that a year ago (even if I wasn't pregnant lol) & Derek & Ella have both done their first charity walk :D

Thank you everyone for sponsoring me

On the 15th May 2010 I am doing a 20 mile walk through the Perthshire countryside to raise money for Breast Cancer Care in memory of my grandma Hazel who died of the disease in 2005.

My walk will start at 9.45am starting at Scone Palace, I'm not the fittest person in the world but I hope to do the 20 miles within 9 hours :D (check it out at http://events.breastcancercare.org.uk/server/show/nav.199).

I've starting the practice a bit late with a few hard walks around the Pennines over three days: 6 miles along the river & up the hills in 3 hours; 12 miles across the moors & up the hills in 5.5 hours; 1.5 miles in an hour - so using those stats and not stopping as much I think I'll be able to manage 9 hours :D

24th April = After a check up with my doctor about how I'm doing he's advised that it would be safer for me to change to the 10 mile walk rather than the 20 mile walk so request has been put in & we drove out to Scone to check out the landscape - it's going to be a beautiful walk!

Now that I'm doing the 10 mile walk my aim is to do it in 4 hours which should be easily achievable.

I'd be gratefull of any donations towards an amazing charity that helps millions of people. So please dig deep and donate now.
