Jennifer's Skydive · 4 September 2016

PSHG is based in Airdrie. We provide services and support for individuals with a neurological diagnosis, their carers and family members.

Story

As many of you may know, I'm carrying out a skydive on Sunday 4th September.

Originally this was planned purely as a birthday present my family got me for my 30th birthday.  However, I've decided to use it as an opportunity to raise funds for the Parkinson's Self Help Group in Airdrie since receiving the bad news that they have lost their lottery finding.

The Parkinson's Self Help Group was founded in 1989 in North Lanarkshire to provide a support network to both sufferers and carers. It has since  expanded to new premises and continues to provide invaluable help for those living with Parkinson's through social events, group outings, therapies and advice.

Craigs Gran, Jeanette, and Grampa, John, were both founding members of PSHG after John was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 55.  PHSG provided so much support for them, both as a sufferer and carer, for over 20 years until John sadly passed away in 2009.

As mentioned, this year they did not receive their lottery funding which PSHG so heavily relies on.  As a result, cuts have had to be made already to staffing and equipment.  As this skydive is already paid for, it means any funds raised will go straight to PSHG.

Any donations, however small, would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks,

Jennifer
