International rugby star, Ruan Pienaar, is passionate about playing his part. Determined to help 2,500 children at risk, he started an amazing cycle event. His vision: 90km to raise £90,000.

Story

As a keen cyclist I try to do a couple of sportives each year and at the same time endeavour to raise money for charity. I decided to participate in different events this year with routes that are new to me. I have chosen to support Tearfund's Cycle for Freedom to help protect children at risk of trafficking, disease and disaster.

The route is 90km around the beautiful north coast of Northern Ireland.

Prem lives in rural Nepal. Poverty and lack of awareness mean children here can be easy prey for traffickers. But thanks to Tearfund’s partner, not only is 14-year-old Prem wise to dangers like trafficking, he is empowered to help keep his schoolmates and peers safe too.

I’m taking part in Tearfund’s Cycle for Freedom and fundraising to help provide children like Prem with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe.

Every £36 I raise could help prevent one more child from being trafficked. Together, we can change the world for vulnerable children affected by the dangers of trafficking, disease and disaster.
