London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
As many of you know my lovely Dad died of Alzheimer’s in July last year, after many, many years of living with Dementia. My amazing Mum was his carer for many years before she too sadly developed Vascular Dementia herself and has since rapidly deteriorated with the disease.
I feel very grateful (and very scared!) to have received a place in the London Marathon through my very supportive running club Mel’s Milers. Whilst this is not a charity place I would like to raise anything I can to help anyone with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. I’m hoping any fundraising will help motivate me to get to (a) the start line and (b) the finish line! Running 26.2 miles will be one very BIG challenge for me, having only run up to 13 before!! Thanks in advance for any amount, no matter how small, you can give.
Every three minutes, someone develops dementia. We can beat it, but we cant do it alone.Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted in their community.Every penny you donate is making sure we can be there for people affected by dementia.
