Jenny and Ray's Colchester half marathon

Colchester half marathon · 12 March 2017
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
In recent years we have seen first hand the amazing work that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust does. We have therefore set ourselves the challenge of running the Colchester Half Marathon on March 12th 2017 to raise much-needed funds to help this wonderful charity continue their research, supporting people with this condition.
Those of you who know us will know that Jenny and Ray "do not run"! However, feeling brave after a glass of wine, we entered this race to do our bit for this charity. Training started in sunny August, but the dark rainy nights have been a real challenge for us. We have taken this very seriously, joining a running club and entering practice races, to the point we have asked Santa for new trainers for Christmas!! How we have changed!
Our dedication didn't stop at entering ourselves - we have roped a load of our best friends into running with us, for which we are exceedingly touched and grateful.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition that causes a build-up of thick sticky mucus in the lungs, digestive system and other organs, causing a wide range of challenging symptoms affecting the entire body. People often look healthy, but it is a life-limiting condition that affects people in many ways. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is committed to advancing treatments to help fight for a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis.
This is a charity that means an awful lot to us and we hope you can spare a few pennies to keep us motivated and raise some funds :-)
