You're here as I'm going to Tajikistan with VSO in March 2014 to volunteer with the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan (NABWT).

Please note that not one penny of my fundraising will be going on my expenses (that is kindly paid for by the government!!), but all directly to VSO’s most needy projects around the globe.

I’m going to be volunteering in Tajikistan for 3 months with the NABWT, helping women develop the skills and knowledge to set up independent businesses. Before I go, I have to raise £1500 as a donation to VSO and the incredible work they do. My placement cost has been paid for by the International Citizen Service scheme run by the government, so none of the money that you donate will go towards the cost of me as a volunteer. Instead, your money is going directly where it’s needed most.

£2 pays for a morning’s work of malaria prevention
£5 pays for a volunteer to train medical staff to reduce mother to baby HIV transmission from 50% to 2%
£10 pays for a midwife to train local nurses to reduce infant mortality by 90%
£50 will allow a VSO volunteer in Mozambique to give a women with HIV the skills needed to start her own business.
