Story
So... months ago I decided to try and run a marathon whilst raising money for the RNLI. The "lifeboats" have been involved with some of the patients in A&E and they work long hours in desperate conditions, and I think their resolve and skill is inpirational.
Then showing a lack of either trait myself (!) I set about marathon training. Unfortunately for me I was forced to up my milage during the past 2 months of bitter cold winds and snow. Training has comprised of hours and hours of running into the wind; muscles like iceblocks; nausea, and knee pain (not to mention the gut stuff!).
The upshot is that: a) I almost pulled out because the horrendous weather has rendered me too cold to do my longest runs, and b) a strong belief that I've worked hard for this, the training was awful, and now I really think you should sponsor me!!
So please dig deep and donate now.
