Story

Mom adored children and as we all know would go above and beyond to help or entertain a child. she was never happier than when she was surrounded by youngsters.

Her Great grandson Julian is effected by visual impairments and will need ongoing support throughout his life from organisations such as “Sight Concern Worcestershire’. Mom was never a fan of cut flowers as she always said that they will fade and die so as a family we all agreed that instead of the fleeting delight of lots of blooms for her funeral people may want to donate to a charity that will make a lasting difference and is close to her heart.

“We are an entirely independent charity and have to raise all of our own funds to be able to provide our range of services.
Our Vision
Our vision is a world where blind and partially sighted people have the confidence to reach their full potential and opportunities to play an active role in society.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to support blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
We support individuals with sight loss, their families, carers and friends. We also provide advice to professionals, members of the public, community groups and anyone else who wants to make a positive difference to the lives of people with sight loss.
We have a large network of local and national professionals who we can call on to support us such as GP’s, opticians and other charities.

If you are facing sight loss, or know someone who is, then please get in touch with us by phone on 01905 723 245 or by email.

Our name changed in 2009.

The charity is officially registered as’ Worcestershire Association for the Blind’, but we operate day to day as ‘Sight Concern Worcestershire’.”
